Body, Soul and Society
The conference theme of NordMedia09 is Body, Soul and Society: Rethinking Media and Communication Ontologies. Through plenary sessions, a particular theme division, and a multi-media evening event NordMedia09 will engage in questions related to how media and communication express, shape and is shaped by our understanding of body, soul and society. How do the media depict “the healthy soul in the healthy body” – and with what social and environmental impact? Can contemporary media contribute to cultural liberation? Are we becoming addicted to the media? These are some of the key-questions that will appear during the conference days. Find out more about the conference theme here.

New Division Structure
From 2009 the 24 “working groups” will be replaced by broader divisions. This means that the conference will achieve a more coherent structure and that it will become easier to organize small panels with particular thematic angles. Within each division it will also be possible to submit individual papers, which will then be arranged into sessions, or to apply for displaying posters in the public areas of the conference. Find out more about the new division structure here!
